The Town of Fergus, is situated on Highway 6 just west of Elora and just north of Guelph, Ontario. Fergus is home to one of the largest Scottish Festivals in Ontario, and the largest Truck Show in Canada. However, it has many other attractions. The Grand River, which flows through town provides the best Brown Trout fly fishery in North America. Nearby Lake Belwood provides more fishing, boating and camping recreation. There are numerous hiking trails in the area, including the Elora-Cataract Trail which wends its way through urban and rural settings. The town is richly steeped in tradition and history and shares many attractions with its sister community, Elora. (by funk)
