Oahu, the Gathering Place, is Hawaii's most populous island, with nearly 800,000 people. It is the home of the state capital - Honolulu, Waikiki Beach, Pearl Harbor, picturesque Diamond Head, and the surf breaks along the North Shore, including possibly the most famous surf in the world, "Pipeline."
