Gilmore City is a small (population about 550) town in northwest Iowa. It sits on the county line between Pocahontas County and Humboldt County. Known as "Iowa's Limestone Capital," Gilmore City's largest employers include two businesses that deal in limestone, which is quarried nearby. Gilmore City/Bradgate Community Schools serve the students of the area. For middle school/junior high and high school, they combine with students in the Twin Rivers School District, with the middle school/junior high school located in Gilmore City, and the high school in Bode.
