"Where the Wild Things Are" is a 2009 fantasy/family film directed by Spike Jonze, starring Forest Whitaker, Catherine Keener, and James Gandolfini.
The film is an adaptation of the eponymous book by Maurice Sendak, about a disobedient little boy named Max who creates his own world -- a forest full of ferocious creatures who consider Max their ruler.
