Very successful girl group, active from 1959 to 1977, and originally known as The Primettes before they signed with Motown. Originally a quartet, they beame a trio following their first Motown single in 1961. The group was billed as Diana Ross and the Supremes from 1967 to 1970 (when Ross left the group for a solo career).

  • Mary Wilson
  • Florance Ballard (through 1967)
  • Cindy Birdsong (replaced Ballard in 1967)
  • Jean Terrill (replaced Ross in 1970)
