Richard Briers - British character actor, born 14th January 1934, Merton, Surrey, England.
Attended RADA between 1954 and 1956.
Probably best known for the part of Tom Good in the BBC comedy series 'The Good Life' (1975).
Awarded an OBE in 1989.
Movies include "Peter's Friends" (1992), "Frankenstein" (1994) and "Hamlet" (1996).
Television work includes "The Good Life" (1975), "Monarch of the Glen" (series 1 - 3, 2000 - 2002), and narrating the animated series "Roobarb" (1974).
