Recreational therapy or recreation therapy often refers to the provision of treatment or therapy which uses recreation and activities as the primary medium for persons whose functional abilities are affected by illness, disability or other conditions. Some professionals use the term: "therapeutic recreation." This often refers to the continuum of professional services -- treatment, education, and recreation services.
