This category pertains only to Cairn Terriers. These dogs were originally bred to hunt rodents and other quarry. "Cairns" are piles of rocks which were common in the landscape of the Isle of Skye, in Scotland, where Cairn Terriers originated.
They are beloved for their "big dog attitude in a small dog's body."
