St Ives Cambridgeshire, formerly known as Slepe, is now home to over 16,500 residents. Situated on the River Great Ouse on the edge of the Cambridge Fen for over 1,000 years has been one of the principle market towns of England. The Bank Holiday Markets are still some of the largest in the county. Today many of its businesses and residents are now engaged in the "high tech" industry on what is fast becoming known as "Silicon Fen"
