Longtown is a parish in the south east of Hertfordshire, south of Llanveynoey, with
the border of  Monmouthshire on a ridge of the Black Mountains to the west.
Clodock is a village in the south of the parish, north of  Walterstone.
The River Monnow flows south through the parish from  Craswall, and is joined by Escley Brook from Newton in the north east.
Olchon Brook joins the Monnow from Llanveyne in the north west.
Longtown village is a linear settlement along the ridge, north of this confluence between Olchon Brook and the River Monnow.
Lower Maes-coed is a dispersed settlement to the east of Escley Brook, straddling the Longtown - Newton parish boundary,
and this area is the catchment for Dulas Brook, which flows south east through the parish of Dulas.
Besides Longtown, this category represents the parishes of Newton and Dulas, whereas
Ewyas Harold to the south east is represented by  Pontrilas.
