Liverpool is a city and a port on the north bank of the mouth of the River Mersey.
It is the home of two Premiere League soccer teams, and the birth-place of The Beatles.
The name Liverpool is often associated with a wide area of Merseyside county across from the  Wirral Penisula.

inland including Kirkland, Everton and , Anfield.
Although they are within the city council boundary, here
Walton is represented by the Bootle category, and
Fazakerley is represented by the  Aintree category.
At Croxteth, the city's boundary is with  Kirkby, where to its
south  KnowsleyHuyton and  Halewood represent areas immediately east of the city boundary.
At the eastern limits of the Liverpool city, the  Speke category represents the area on the
north bank of the Mersey estuary, including Garston and Hunt's Cross, within the boundary from  Halton to the east.
