This category lists websites for the south east of the City of Liverpool, served by Liverpool South Parkway rail station,
and the A561 road from Widnes into the city centre.
Speke was a small village until the 1930s, thereafter expanding as a suburb
separated from Liverpool by Garston which now has a container port independent of Liverpool Docks.
The airport was constructed before the outbreak of World War II, which contributed to industrial development of the area.
Beatles musicians George Harrison and Paul McCartney were raised in this area.
Speke Airport was renamed to  Liverpool John Lennon Airport in 2001.
