Located on the west side of the province, York County was one of the original counties created in 1785. It is bounded on the northeast by Northumberland County, on the southeast by Sunbury County, on the south by Charlotte County, on the southwest by the State of Maine and on the northwest by Carleton and Victoria Counties.
