Although the Niagara Peninsula begins outside Hamilton and takes in Stoney Creek as one of its communities, Grimsby is the first of the twelve regional municipalities that travellers meet in their journey, via the QEW, into the Regional Municipality of Niagara. It is largely self-contained and self-sufficient, with no small communities falling under its governance.
Its sites are expected to increase in number and become separated into appropriate subcategories.
