Bloomfield [Hartford County] Connecticut was incorporated from Windsor in May, 1835 and named from a Hartford family. Formerly known as Wintonbury.
Area, 26.2 sq. miles. Population, est., 19,000. Voting districts, 6. Principal industries, insurance, aerospace products, specialized tools, electronics, gold and diamond products, diversified industries and agriculture.
Bloomfield is considered to be a part of the Greater Hartford Metro Area.
