Incorporated in 1873, Hinsdale is a suburb located approximately 20 miles west of Chicago, Illinois. A small east section of the village is located in Cook County, though the majority is in DuPage County. The 2000 total population was estimated at 16,633. Hinsdale is conveniently located. Three Metra commuter rail stations on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe line running from Aurora to downtown Chicago are located within the village limits. Major interstates 294, 290, and 88 are minutes away. O'Hare International Airport (ORD) is 17 miles and Midway Airport (MDW) is 14 miles away.
