Lincoln City was formed in 1964 from the small communities of Taft, Nelscott, Cutler City, Delake and Oceanlake.
Lincoln City is on the central Oregon Coast at the 45th parallel. There are seven miles of beaches that are usually filled with colorful kites, taking advantage of the winds. Lincoln City is known as "The kite capital of the world."
