The British National League is a collection of ice hockey clubs from all over the United Kingdom. Although it is one step below the Superleague the BNL is heavily contested, with the best of British talent playing along side skaters from Canada, America and Europe. The season lasts from September to February with the play-offs in March and April. There are also two cup competitions between the teams. One takes place before the League commences and the other during the Christmas period. Sometimes individual clubs also have challenge matches against touring teams or Superleague sides.
