Arts/Literature includes links to websites dealing with a wide range of subjects and interests which span the entire length and breadth of the literary arts: webpages devoted to specific, recognized authors, sites on book-collecting, sites covering specific genres and types of literature, and even online editions of specific works by numerous recognized authors and poets of the past as well as no few of the present.
Websites for publishers should be submitted to an appropriate category of Business/Industries/Publishing -- they will not be listed here.

Websites selling books or publications should be submitted to an appropriate category of Shopping/Publications -- they will not be listed here.

Websites concerned with writing that has not appeared in print should be submitted to an appropriate category of Arts/Online_Writing -- they will not be listed here.

This category primarily serves as a placeholder for the subcategories that are dedicated to individual, recognized authors.
To site suggesters: Please find the most specific category. We list sites according to the author's last name, and the genre. If for example the author's name is Jane Doe, and she writes only poetry, please click on the letter D sub-category, then on the Poetry link. That is where the website should be suggested. If the author writes in a variety of Genres, simply click on the letter D sub-category, then suggest the site there. Also be aware that when the primary focus is to sell books, those sites should be suggested to Shopping/Publications/Books or its sub-categories.
This category is concerned primarily with sites presenting information about literary awards, usually for published works, or best seller lists. Alternatively, sites relating information on prizes and awards in support, recognition, or promotion of the field of literature.
Sites concerning individual authors should not be submitted to this category. For example, a site on Stephen King should be submitted here: Arts: Literature: Authors: Horror: K: King, Stephen.

Commercial sites should be submitted to the appropriate "shopping" category. For example a site selling books by Stephen King should be submitted here: Shopping: Publications: Books: Fiction: Sci-Fi Fantasy and Horror: King, Stephen.

This category is for online information about biographies, including online texts. Sites that are selling books or information must be submitted to a subcategory of Shopping/Publications/Books; they will not be reviewed here.
Chats and Forums are an interactive element on many websites. The presentation and delivery formats may vary slightly, from threaded discussion boards, to online mailing lists and live chat, but all facilitate the exchange of ideas and information in an online community setting.
Arts/Literature/Chats & Forums is for online literary communities whose main feature is an interactive community discussing published literature and authors.

Chats or forums whose main focus is submitting of original writing for online viewing and discussion belong in the Online_Writing category.

To maximize visibility, first look for the most specific category for the community. For example, if the main focus of your community forums is Science Fiction, your best bet would be to submit to Science Fiction and Fantasy/Message Boards and Communities/. Likewise if your main focus is discussion of a specific author or book - like ''Stephen King'' or ''Harry Potter'' - check to see if these categories have an area for forum communities.

This category is for sites that offer information about literature for children. Sites which sell literature for children do not belong in this category. They should be sent to Shopping/Books/Sellers/Children. Do not add duplicate URL's.
Drama here refers to a play, or a literary composition intended to portray life or character or to tell a story usually involving conflicts and emotions exhibited through action and dialogue, designed for theatrical performance. The resulting literary traditions reflect the full spectrum of thought as history allows us to know it. A dramatist, or playwright, is one who writes plays. Dramatist can also refer to a person involved in the art of composing, writing, acting, or producing plays. In this category are found sites and categories relating to playwrights, their literary works, and the artistic environments and traditions in which they worked.
Please submit sites relating to specific dramatists

Literature festivals vary tremendously in their formats, but all have in common a wish to celebrate literature and literacy. Typically, a festival will be spread over more than one day and will include readings from authors, book sales, workshops and signings. Some festivals concentrate on "great" literature, others focus on the literature of a particular part of the world, others again may focus on children's literature or more accessible, everyday books.
This Arts/Literature category contains listings of websites which are related to fiction. Its sub-categories are sorted by genre, form, mode of publication, and so on.
Sites listed at this level are restricted to those covering multiple genres, or, a recognized (sub)genre without a subcategory -- academic studies, tributes to or studies of multiple authors or works, interviews, substantive reviews, journalistic articles about the genre or its writers, and bibliographies. Sites specific to a single genre should be submitted to that genre''s lowest specifically related subcategory, i.e. Robert Jordan can be found in Arts/Literature/Genres/Fantasy/Authors/J/Jordan,_Robert.
