Blondie is the name of the band, though many associated it as being only Deborah (Debbie) Harry. The musical group was formed in 1974 by Chris Stein, guitar; and Deborah Harry, vocals. They were joined by Clem Burke, drums; Jimmy Destri, keyboards; as well as others who formed the core group, such as Frank Infante, guitar; and Nigel Harrison, bass. Blondie emerged from the New York New Wave Punk scene. Defying categorization, they scored hits in the musical styles of reggae, rock/disco, hip hop, and pop. The band disbanded in 1982 and reformed in 1998 with most of its original members.
