Their name is derived from the Juliana Group, several University of Pittsburgh students who are conducting a study on music and the interactions with audiences.
The Juliana Theory was set up by lead singer/songwriter Brett Detar, who was the only Pittsburgh band to accept the challenge of being studied as a social experiment.
