We list sites here that are predominantly concerned with anything having to do with the MP3 sound files.

If your MP3 files are full-length, your site will probably be welcome here, but if you offer only short MP3 clips in order to get people to buy longer ones or CDs, you are primarily a sales site, not a music site, and you should submit your site to the appropriate category under Shopping.

Please try and find a sub-category for the site before submitting here. Nearly all sites submitted to this directory are moved to a sub-category anyway.

Only sites which feature a whole range of things to do with MP3, such as news, reviews, hardware, etc. will be accepted here. Even if the site has a few different sections featured, if downloads is the main one, it should be listed under Downloads.

Downloads

This category is for listing sites which have free MP3 downloads as their main feature.

Sites selling MP3 files do not belong in this category. Please suggest such sites to Shopping/Entertainment/Recordings/Audio/Music/Sound_Files/MP3.

Link Lists

Before you submit a site to this category, make sure you read this: Sites in this directory consist mainly of links to other sites. If your site is mainly for downloading songs, it should be submitted to Arts: Music: Sound Files: MP3: Downloads. If it contains mainly links (such as a toplist) or is a database of MP3 sites with links, then it may be added. Sites are considered link lists only if they link to other MP3-related sites. If they are a list of links to individual songs or portions of other sites without proper attribution, they are not link lists, they are a means to steal bandwidth from servers paid for by other people. Such sites will not be listed.

This category lists a variety of search engines specifically for finding MP3 files, either from web sites, FTP servers, or usenet/newsgroups.

Styles

This category contains a number of categories and @links containing MP3 sites featuring different styles, such as metal and Christian music.

Sites submitted to this category should contain MP3 files from ONE particular style only. If there are multiple styles involved, please submit to Sound_Files/MP3/Downloads.

If possible, please submit to one of the linked categories such as @Metal.
