A home to all things odd. A gathering place for sites dedicated to the bizarre. Here you can find strange, cryptic, humorous, and thought provoking sites featuring stories, poems, essays, and other forms of writing.

Fantasy

For fantasy stories, poetry or novels wholly or in part published on the web. Fantasy fiction usually is set in alternate worlds, in which magic often plays an important role. In medieval fantasy, technology is usually undeveloped, and societies often have a structure similar to Earth's Middle Ages. In contemporary fantasy, the world may be very similar to our own, but with a fantastic element that sets it apart.

Gothic

A style of fiction characterized by the use of desolate or remote settings and macabre, mysterious, or violent incidents. Devoted to writing in the gothic genre presented online, whether as traditional writing converted into web-fiction or fiction designed to take advantage of the unique qualities of the web.

Please submit only sites containing stories in the gothic genre. Full works or works-in-progress intending to be completely web-published are preferred, but sites with excerpts will be considered on merit.

Historical Fiction

Fiction that may be a rewrite of an historical event, or set in past times. May also be about an historical figure.

Horror

Devoted to writing in the horror genre presented online, whether as traditional writing converted into web-fiction or fiction designed to take advantage of the unique qualities of the web. Horror might consists of supernatural events, unnatural creatures, and humans in peril.

Please submit only sites containing stories in the horror genre. Full works or works-in-progress intending to be completely web-published are preferred, but sites with excerpts will be considered on merit.

If your site contains several original short stories or poetry, please submit it to the Arts/Online_Writing/Fiction/Genres/Horror/Short_Stories category.

Mixed Genre

Mixed Genre Fiction web sites are those that contain either several works of different genres, or single works that blend the traditional genres. Genres are romance, horror, thrillers, science-fiction, adventure, detective stories, historical, etc. These web sites must contain works that are fully accessible to the user online, to be either read online, or downloaded. The category includes Fiction only.

Submit sites to this category that contain fiction works that blend the traditional genres, or sites that contain several fiction works that are of different genres. Only submit sites that contain complete works to be read online.

Web sites that contain purely contemporary fiction should be submitted to the Online Writing/Fiction category. Those that are genre specific should be submitted to the sub-categories available under the Online Writing/Fiction/Genres category.

Mystery

Devoted to writing in the mystery genre presented online, whether as traditional writing converted into web-fiction or fiction designed to take advantage of the unique qualities of the web. The mystery genre would include stories with a who-dun-it ending or a game to be solved.

Please submit only sites containing stories in the mystery genre. Full works or works-in-progress intending to be completely web-published are preferred, but sites with excerpts will be considered on merit.

Romance

This category is for websites contain partial or complete romance fiction stories for reading online.

Science Fiction

Devoted to writing in the science fiction genre presented online, whether as traditional writing converted into web-fiction or fiction designed to take advantage of the unique qualities of the web. Science fiction can be futuristic, deal with life outside our planet or time period, or include fictional scientific advances.

Please submit only sites containing stories in the science fiction genre. Full works or works-in-progress intending to be completely web-published are preferred, but sites with excerpts will be considered on merit. Complete novels, and novels-in-progress should be submitted to the novel subcatagory instead. Short stories and series stories also should be submitted to the proper catagories. Store-fronts primarily used to sell printed works are not online writing and should not be submitted.

Young Adult

Do NOT submit sites that are or are about Comic Books, Animation, or Online Comic Strips, they have their own categories. This category is for WRITING.
