Collections

This category encompasses physical collections or archives of photography which are held by private individuals and public institutions, and which contribute to the knowledge of the history and practice of photography as a fine art.

Submitting deep links to museum or institutional sites is acceptable, but all submissions must provide actual access to collections either through database search tools or a "tour" of the collection. Submissions listing physical access only will not be accepted.

Collections of work by individual artists hould be submitted to an appropriate subcategory of Arts/Photography/Photographers.

Curated virtual exhibitions should be submitted to Arts/Photography/Reference/Curated_Virtual_Exhibitions.

Histories of photography should be submitted to Arts/Photography/Reference/History.

Curated Virtual Exhibitions

This category encompasses curated virtual exhibitions of photography which are hosted by public institutions such as museums, archives, and libraries, and which contribute to the knowledge of the history and practice of photography as a fine art.

Submitting deep links to curated virtual exhibitions hosted on museum or institutional sites is acceptable, but all submissions must provide actual access to curated exhibitions either through database search tools or a "tour" of the exhibition. Submissions listing access to physical exhibitions only will not be accepted.

Curated exhibitions of work by individual artists (Masters of Photography) should be submitted to Arts/Photography/Photographers/Masters.

Collections should be submitted to Arts/Photography/Reference/Collections.

Histories of photography should be submitted to Arts/Photography/Reference/History.

This category is for history pertaining to photography, such as history of black and white photography.

This category is for the history of photography itself. Biographies of contemporary photographers, famous or not, should be submitted to the photographers'' individual categories, not here. Sites related to work by 19th and early 20th century photographers should be submitted to Arts/Photography/Photographers/Historical. If possible, submit histories of individual organizations to the appropriate category.
