Action and Adventure

Commercial and fan sites for shows that feature physical action and/or depiction of adventurous exploits, especially if the material focuses more on excitement than drama or is more light-hearted in tone than most serious drama series. These include Westerns, shows focusing on martial arts, and some shows focused on the exploits of private detectives, espionage agents or military personnel.

Children's

Entertainment-oriented shows designed primarily for an audience of children.

Christmas

Shows that focus on the holiday and/or are traditionally aired during the holiday period.

Classic Television

Classic Television includes programs produced and broadcast in the 1950's, 60's and 70's.

Comedy

Arts: Television: Programs: Comedy is for sites devoted to sitcoms, sketch comedy, and other humorous programs.

Documentaries are primarily for single-episode programs and short-run series featuring in-depth explorations of non-fiction topics or themes.

Dramas

Shows with dramatic or serious themes, usually in a one-hour format.

Shows in which contestants compete for money and/or prizes.

This category is intended for commercial and fan sites for television programs which focus on home improvement, repair, decorating, and do-it-yourself projects.

Horror

Shows intended to frighten viewers or that focus on frightening topics or monstrous characters, such as vampires and werewolves.

Mini-Series

A mini-series has been defined as a "narrative drama designed to be broadcast in a limited number of episodes" and that have a logical beginning, middle, and end. Most often the mini-series will be an adaptation of a popular novel ("The Thorn Birds"), or a depiction of people and/or events of an historical significance ("From the Earth to the Moon"). A mini-series usually consists of more than two but less than thirteen episodes (or parts), and is specifically made to air on television.

For commercial and fan sites related to specific programs in the television mini-series genre. Sites should be submitted in their appropriate sub-category, if it already exists.

Sites for regular serial television programs (such as "JAG," "The X-Files," "The Sopranos," etc.) should be submitted to their appropriate category under Arts: Television: Programs categories.

Serial dramas that focus on the personal lives of a group of characters.

If the site you are submitting is an Intenet Soap Opera please submit it to Arts: Online Writing: Fiction: Series Stories: Internet Soap Operas.

If the site is about an individual show, please submit your site to the subcategory for that particular show.

Talk Shows

Shows that primarily focus on interviews and commentary or conversations among two or more people, generally with a regular host and one or more guests.

If a subcategory already exists for the show your site focuses on, please submit to that subcategory. Shows that focus on more than one show or the talk show genre in general should be submitted to the main category.
