Legitimate writing and literary contests, competitions, awards and prizes of all kinds. In this general category, contests that offer prizes in two or more different genres will be found. Contests that focus on specific genres, like Essays, Poetry, Screenwriting and Short Stories, are listed in those specific sub-categories. Contests do not have to have monetary rewards, but that is what is most likely to be found in this category.
Please give a brief description of the web site and the contest. Contests do not have to have monetary awards, but that is what is most likely to be found in this category.

An effort will be made to include all writing contests, competitions, awards and prizes in this category with the following four exceptions:
1. No foreign languages. English only.
2. No so-called "contests" that are merely "draws". To be included, a contest must be judged on the writing quality of entries. Random lucky draws are not contests.
3. Sites maintained with an excessive number of pop-ups will be excluded.
4. Sites that are unresponsive or restricted or close down for a period longer than four weeks will be removed. If a site changes hands, it may also be removed if the site''s original contest content is not maintained or improved. 5. Contests that contain a cancellation or pro rata clause (e.g., "If fewer than 200 entries are received, prize money will be adjusted pro rata") will not be listed. 6. If the only prize is being published, for free, that is not considered a contest but a writing showcase. See Arts/Online Writing.
