Airships and Balloons

Lighter than air craft are those aircraft for which lift is principally generated by enclosing a large volume of gas that is lighter than the surrounding air. This includes aerostats, airships, balloons (sealed and hot air), blimps, dirigibles and Zeppelins.
This category will only list manufacturers of lighter than air craft.

Owners and operators of advertising blimps or airships should submit their sites to the Advertising category.

Owners and operators of airships and blimps used for photography should submit their sites to an appropriate regional category in the Aerial Photography section.

Components and Parts

This category is for manufacturers of components used in aircraft manufacture.
This category will only list manufacturers of aircraft related components.

Companies which sell but do not manufacture components should submit to the Aircraft Spares category.

Manufacturers of complete subsystems should submit to the Systems category.

Fixed Wing

Fixed wing aircraft are those aircraft for which lift is principally generated by means of one or more aerodynamic wings, the airflow for which is generated by an engine pushing or pulling the aircraft through the air. This includes aircraft on which the wing geometry can be altered during flight (eg. "swing wing" fighters).
This category will only list manufacturers of fixed wing aircraft.

Sites concerned with the maintenance, repair and support of aircraft should go to an appropriate category in the Transport Aviation section.

Sites pertaining to the technology, theory, and science of aeronautics should go to the Aeronautics category.

Gliders

Sailplane or glider manufacturers .
This category lists manufacturers of gliders or sailplanes.

Kits

Aircraft kits are prefabricated to a certain degree by the manufacturer and then completed by the owner of the aircraft.
These category lists manufacturers of aircraft kits.

Unmanned aircraft aircraft are those aircraft designed to carry a payload but no pilot or passengers. This includes drones and UAVs used as targets or for data gathering.
