An altimeter tells you how far above the ground you are. This is essential information so that you can open your parachute before you hit the ground.
"Audible altimeters" make a sound at a pre-programmed height(s), e.g. the height where you should pull your parachute, or for formation skydivers "break-off" height where you start moving away from the other skydivers to prevent mid-air collisions when you open your parachute.
(Note that "Skydiving" and "Parachuting" mean the same thing).
If you make other skydiving equipment, please just submit your site once to Recreation: Outdoors: Skydiving: Manufacturers rather than submitting it to several subcategories.

A rig consists of a container, harness, one or two canopies, and possibly an AAD.
"Containers" are the backpack-like things that your "canopies" (parachutes) are kept in when you jump out of a plane.
"Harnesses" are the straps that keep the container (and canopy) attached to you. Most containers are permanently attached to a harness.
A "canopy" is the technical term for the actual parachute. The "container" is not part of the canopy, and is often purchased separately.
Most containers intended for sports parachuting hold two canopies, a main and a reserve. This means that if there is a problem with the main canopy, you can cut it away and open the reserve.
An "AAD" or "Automatic Activation Device" is a safety device to automatically open your reserve parachute at the last moment if you do not open your parachute normally.
(Note that "Skydiving" and "Parachuting" mean the same thing).
If you make both containers and canopies, please just submit your site once to this category. If you only make one or the other, please submit your site to the appropriate sub-category - Canopies or Containers and Harnesses.
At first glance, skyboards look similar to surfboards. The obvious difference is that you play with them in freefall! The construction is also quite different.
