Material handling is the short-distance movement, storage, and control of that from which things are made, throughout the process of manufacturing, distribution, consumption, and disposal. This category is focused on the supply of equipment and associated services to businesses undertaking materials handling activities. This category lists sites which either relate to the materials handling industry as a whole, or relate to materials handling in more than one industrial sector. Most sites are listed within one of three main equipment groups - Automated, Bulk, or Manual. Sites relating primarily to materials handling equipment specifically used in factories and involved in actually manufacturing the material are not listed here - they are listed within Manufacturing/Factory_Automation. Sites related to equipment which alters the nature or condition of batches of materials, rather than just transporting it, are listed within Machinery_and_Tools/Process_Equipment. Sites for businesses that conduct a range of machining and custom manufacturing activities, of which just one is the production of materials handling equipment, are listed within Casting,_Molding,_Machining and/or at the appropriate Regional level. Sites related primarily to packaging materials such as bags are listed within Packaging. This category does not list associated management processes, such as supply chain management, or warehousing and other logistics and distribution services.
Please observe the following when submitting your site:
  • Business sites submitted here should be for businesses that trade or operate primarily in several states or equivalent. More locally orientated businesses should be submitted to the appropriate Regional category. Sites should normally be submitted no more than once within Business and/or once within Regional.
  • Please attempt to find the most appropriate place to submit your site. Many materials handling manufacturers make a diverse range of products, so this can be difficult. Where the main activity of the business relates to one type or group of equipment, the site should be submitted to that category. Most sites can be placed within one of the three main equipment groups - Automated, Bulk, or Manual. Please read the category descriptions before submitting.

Sites/businesses will be listed no more than ONCE within Materials Handling. Please take the time to find the most appropriate place for that one listing.

  • Only sites with English language content may be listed here. Non-English sites should be submitted to the appropriate World category.
  • Distributors or integrators of many materials handling products should submit once only to Distributors_and_Integrators. Please do not submit each product separately to other sub categories. Do not submit mirror domains. Concerted attempts to do this will result in the removal of all your existing and future listings from the directory.
  • Sites relating to equipment or services designed for one specific industry should be submitted to an appropriate category within that industrial sector.
  • Please ensure you have read the general business submission guidelines.
