Metrology is the scientific study of measurement.
Legal metrology is the part of metrology where regulations are implemented in order to ensure an appropriate level of credibility in measurement results whenever conflicting interests exist, or when incorrect measurement results may adversely affect individuals or society itself.
(Not to be confused with meteorology -- the study of the processes and phenomena of the atmosphere, especially as a means of forecasting the weather.)
Please check that your site is not a manufacturing or service coompant. If it is, it would be submitted into a lower category here.
This category will list companies that provide a repair and/or calibration service to other companies for industrial equipment and components. The type of equipment and components involved are manual and electronic gauges, transducers, transmitters etc.
This category will list companies that provide Industrial Metrology services and Consulting services to manufacturing companies on the topic of Industrial Metrology. The type of companies listed here will include dimensional analysis of workpieces, training companies, CAD / CAM / CMM conversion companies etc.
This category will list companies that manufacture and sell Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), software for CMMs and accessories for CMMs. This category will not list dimensional services that employ CMMs.
This category lists companies that manufacture and service metrology equipment that measure gears and circular workpieces by turning the workpiece and measuring roundness, tooth form etc.
This category will list companies that manufacture and sell products that assist in inspecting and checking workpieces with high accuracy (sub-millimeter and often ±0.01mm) according to design drawings and specifications. This includes linear dimensions, diameters, location of features, levelness, flatness and geometric form fitting. The type of products listed here are micrometers, calipers, plug gauges, thread gauges, surface plates, columns and all fixed gauging for manufacturing process.
