Editor raggedyrugs, commonly called 'rugs by fellow editors, was born Robert Waldhelm. He was an editor at DMOZ from early 2001 until 2016. During that time he was granted editall and then meta privileges. He passed away December 14, 2018.
Rzan, whose real name was Rosanne, was an editor at DMOZ and its successor, Curlie. She joined about February 9, 2003, and last logged in during March 2017. She passed away October 31, 2020.

We have various grades of editors with different capabilities assigned to each. Rzan was made a meta-editor in October 2006. One of a meta-editor's duties is to review applications to decide if s/he thinks the person is a good fit for the work at Curlie.

Meta-editors also help new editors learn the ropes, and are involved with decisions that may affect the directory and all future editors. So even though rzan is gone in body, her work here remains and will do so as long as Curlie exists.

Rzan lived in England and worked primarily in categories relating to England, and to categories related to Middle Eastern dance, anywhere in the world.

Rzan was preceded in death by her husband Phil, in 2019. She is survived by her adult children Rachel and Richard, and several grandchildren.
