Tales of Middle Earth

Angband variant which expands on Tolkienian theme, based on Zangband 2.2.0. Formerly known as PernAngband, the name was changed due to copyright issues. The variant is alternatively known as Troubles of Middle Earth, and the name is generally shortened to ToME. The unique feature of ToME that sets it apart from other Angband variants is the ability to create modules for the game, which build on the game's engine and can be completely different games in and of themselves.

Zangband

Zangband is a single player computer role playing game set in the world(s) of Amber, created by the author Roger Zelazny. It is a variant of the game Angband which is descended from the game Moria which is in turn based upon the game Rogue. In Zangband a player may choose from a number of races, classes and magic realms when creating a character, and then play that character over a period of days, weeks, or even months. The objective of the game is to increase your experience, and certain other characteristics, and also to collect useful items, to give you a reasonable chance against the great Serpent of Chaos.
