Sacred is another attempt in conquering Diablo's throne. This time, it's Ascaron Entertainment who bring an Action-RPG to the table which receives review honors from many authors, especially for the single player quest. And commercially, 100,000 units are already sold in Germany as of today (April 2004). Sacred was released in 2004 on the PC for Windows systems. An evil necromancer summons a demon to conquer the land of Ancaria for him. The experiment fails, the demon turns on his master and from that day forward, brings terror and havoc to the land. Furthermore, an evil sect is spreading their poison over the land and the Orcish and Goblin hordes are alive and kicking, too. There's much to do for the sole hero who can be of several classes like gladiator, seraphim, female vampire, etc..
