Musculoskeletal solid neoplasms/tumors are commonly referred to as bone or soft-tissue sarcomas. These are rare, aggressive tumors which include Ewings Family of Tumors, Osteosarcoma/Bone Fibrous Histiocytoma, Childhood Rhabdomyosarcoma, Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor, Childhood and Adult Synovial Sarcoma, Uterine Sarcoma, Chondrosarcoma, Alveolar Soft-Part Sarcoma, Liposarcoma, Leiomyosarcoma, Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor, and others.
Submit sites that include information about bone and soft tissue sarcomas in the main category. If the site is about a specific bone tumor or soft tissue sarcoma, please locate the category and submit there.
Cancer that appears in the bone in the form of tumors is considered bone cancer or bone sarcoma. The most common form of bone cancer is Osteosarcoma which often appear in the knees, upper legs, and upper arms. Other forms of bone sarcoma include Chondrosarcoma which affects the cartilage in pelvis, upper legs, and shoulders; Chordoma which affects from base of the skull, all along the spine; and Ewing’s Sarcoma which affects the bone marrow and bones.
Submit sites about bone cancer (sarcoma) which commonly is found to affect the bones in the body.
A malignant tumor that is a mixture of carcinoma (cancer of epithelial tissue, which is skin and tissue that lines or covers the internal organs) and sarcoma (cancer of connective tissue, such as bone, cartilage, and fat). Can appear in uterine, ovarian, pancreatic locations. Also known as Mixed Mullerian Tumor.
Submit sites about the rare cancer that is a combination of sarcoma and carcinoma.
Rare tumors that share similar features, but some are in the bone and some in the soft tissue. They have the same abnormalities in their DNA and have similar proteins that are rarely found in other types of cancers. They also believe these 3 cancers develop from the same type of normal cells in the body. The three cancers are called Ewing's sarcoma, Extraosseous (outside bone) Ewing (EOE), and Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor (PNET).
GIST develops from the cells of the connective tissues that support the organs of the digestive system. These tumors behave and are treated differently from other types of sarcoma. Also known as Gastrointestinal Tract (GI) Stromal Sarcoma.
Submit sites about Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST). A rare form of cancer that develops in the cells of the connective tissue in the digestive system.
A rare tumor of the soft tissue and/or bone. Sometimes occurs following radiation treatments. Also known as Malignant Fibrous Cytoma.

Cancer that affects the soft tissue of the body including muscles, tendons, fibrous tissues, fat, blood vessels, nerves, and synovial tissues (tissues around joints)typically referred to as a Sarcoma.
