The Nintendo was introduced in 2006 and is a videogame console requiring a separate device, usually a TV, to display the game being played. Some, but not all, of the games designed to be played on the Wii system require accessories to be used. This is normally made clear on the product description of the game. The Wii system is Nintendo's equivalent to the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360.

The Sony PlayStation 3 was introduced in 2006 as the successor to the PlayStation 2 and is a videogame console requiring a separate display device, such as a TV, to display the game being played. The PlayStation is a competitor to the Nintendo Wii and the Microsoft Xbox 360.

The Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) is the successor to the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and, like the PS3, the gameplay is viewed on a separate TV or Monitor. It has much more computing power and caters for many accessories and controllers. As yet, the games for the PS4 are not compatible with those released for the PS3.

The Microsoft Xbox was introduced in 2001 and has since been superseded by the Xbox 360. It was last produced in 2007 in North America.

The Xbox 360 is videogame console introduced in 2005 as the successor to the Xbox. It requires a separate device, usually a TV, to display the game being played. It also has the facility to show films and play music from optical discs or from internet sources. It is produced by Microsoft and is regarded as a competitor of the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii.
Suggestions for sites or pages dealing with Xbox 360 or the games produced for it will be considered for entry in the directory. Sites for music or film videos playable on the Xbox 360 do not belong in this category.
