This category is for noncommercial sites about recreational jewelry making. Websites listed here offer tips and instructions for working with beads and jewelry that are appropriate to the skills and interests of kids and teenagers.

Papier Mache

Papier-mâché (which means 'chewed-up paper' in French) is a construction material that consists of pieces of paper, sometimes reinforced with textiles, stuck together using a wet paste (e.g. glue, starch, or wallpaper adhesive). The crafted object becomes solid when the paste dries.

This category is for sites that provide ideas and instructions on constructing models using papier-mâché techniques.

Quilting

Quilting is a method of sewing two layers of cloth with a layer of insulating batting in between. A bed covering or similar large rectangular piece of quilting work is called a quilt. Quilting is often combined with embroidery, patchwork, applique and other forms of needlework to create patchwork quilts.

This category is for sites offering ideas and instructions on quilting that are appropriate to the skills and interests of kids and teenagers.

Recipes

This category contains sites with recipes for kids and teens to make their own craft items.

Projects include, but are not limited to, play doughs, chalks, glues, paints, and clays.

All sites submitted to this category must be designed for use by kids and teens, and provide craft recipes.

Websites designed for parents or teachers, or to sell products or services, will not be accepted.

Rubber Stamping

Rubber stamps with pictures or words on them can be used to make greeting cards, book markers, stickers and pictures. Images can be transferred to a variety of media including paper, fabric, wood, glass, plastic and metal.

String Figures

String figures or string games are popular with many indigenous cultures throughout the world, from the Arctic to Australia, all around the Pacific, and in Africa. They are typically performed by one person, or two, as in the game of "Cat's Cradle", using a single loop of string. Often they are made one following another, while singing or telling a story.

This category is for sites which provide instructions for making string figures, whether traditional or newly invented. Sites may also include the stories associated with string figures.
