An e-zine is the electronic form of a magazine, delivered via the Internet through the web, by e-mail, as a PDF file, or some other commonly accepted electronic form. It shares many of the characteristics of a paper magazine. It will have a regular publishing schedule: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.
It can accept submissions, which are then approved and edited by an editor or a staff using an agreed upon editorial process. Or it could be produced by a small group of writers. An e-zine will typically publish only a small selection of the work submitted to it, setting a tone for the zine.
Please note that this category is for online publications that cover news.
Sites that are published on a regular schedule, which accept submissions, or have the works of several authors can be submitted to here - provided they deal with news, current affairs, or the ways in which they are gathered. News items can be hard news (serious and timely topics) and soft news (lighter topics); breaking news (immediate events); news analysis; and investigative reporting.
Sites affiliated with a printed publication should be submitted to News: Magazines and E-zines.
An e-zine''s site must contain at least one completed issue for it to be listed. Sites which are not updated frequently will also not be accepted.
Please note that editors get many submissions every day. By submitting your site to the appropriate category you make it easier for your site to be listed on the ODP. Please be sure to select the most appropriate when submitting a site.
Sites that focus on marketing or selling products will not be accepted in this section. Instead they should be listed under Shopping. For instance, e-zines primarily designed to sell books should be submitted to Shopping: Publications: Books.
The websites in this category list e-zines that deal with news.
Submit only sites that are directories of NEWS e-zines. The site can be a list or a categorized database of e-zines. It can also include reviews and ratings.
