Listing wineries and informational resources relevant to Napa Valley wine and wine country.

The Napa Valley American Viticultural Area is located in Napa County. This category and its subcategories also contain listings for the A.V.A.'s contained entirely within Napa Valley:

  • Atlas Peak
  • Chiles Valley District
  • Diamond Mountain District
  • Howell Mountain
  • Mount Veeder
  • Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley
  • Oakville
  • Rutherford
  • St. Helena
  • Spring Mountain District
  • Stags Leap District
  • Yountville
  • Wild Horse Valley
In addition, parts of the Los Carneros A.V.A. lie within Napa Valley. However, listings for that region are found in Recreation: Food: Drink: Wine: United States: California: North Coast: Carneros since Los Carneros is also partly in Sonoma County.

Although some of the American Viticultural Areas in Napa Valley share the names of Napa County towns, the borders are not the same. For example, a winery with a Saint Helena mailing address might actually be located in the Spring Mountain A.V.A. This category is organized according to the official American Viticultural Area definitions contained in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms regulations, which is the agency responsible for the official wine geographical organization of the United States.

Please first check the submission guidelines at http://dmoz.org/add.html and the Wine category description at http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Food/Drink/Wine/desc.html.

Important: Sites that are relevant only to the Los Carneros region should be submitted in Recreation: Food: Drink: Wine: United States: California: North Coast: Carneros.
