Civil War

Living History/US Civil War portrays the era of 1861-1865 via the reenactment of battles and daily living. These include artisans, duels and military combat, first-person interpretations, historic research, period garb, and use of the era's common tools and objects.

French and Indian War

Living Historians who recreate the French and Indian War, a portion of the larger Seven Years War, which was fought on the North American continent between 1754 and 1763.

Websites of reenactment events, groups and individuals, related to the period of the North American Westward expansion (roughly 1783-1860), covering the areas from the Allegheny Mountains west to the Pacific Ocean.

Old West

Websites of reenactment groups, individuals, publications and events relating to the American Old West. Generally speaking, this covers the states and territories west of the Mississippi River from 1849-1915.

Pontiac's War

Organizations involved in recreating the historical military lifestyle, tactics, personas, etc. of the period of time typically referred to as Pontiac's War.

Revolutionary War

This category covers the period of conflict from 1774 to 1783. It includes civilian reenactors, provided that a relationship to the War for Independence other than time frame is established. These impressionists may be representative of any country involved in the original conflict, so long as they strive for authenticity. Also found here are directories and information on getting started.

Sites devoted to military units are urged to submit to the relevant subcategory. These include fife and drum corps, militias, Army, Navy or Marine-type military units.
