DCC

DCC stands for Digital Command Control and is one of the two popular systems used to digitally control a model railroad layout.
Garden railways combine the hobbies of gardening and model railroading.

Garden railroads first appeared in Europe in the mid-1800s and were simply model trains outdoors, a novelty of the well-to-do. In the late 1960s, Lehmann Gross Bahn (LGB) began manufacturing trains designed for outdoor use and introduced garden outdoor railroading. The hobby has expanded to countries around the world.

Aimed at directing searchers toward recognised rail clubs, societies and associations where: 1) historical research material can be obtained or deposited. 2) others of similar interest can be contacted. 3) find local, national and international model rail resources. 4) rail related information can be found and shared. 5) model making tips can be found and shared. 6) answer detail, technical, historical and beginners' questions relating to the various aspects of the hobby. This is a fascinating hobby with many facets that can be enjoyed by anyone at any age. With nearly 200 years of history to support it, the range of subjects is attractive too. This is the realm where people really can suspend their disbelief. Who wants to be an engine driver...?
