They are lively, active and are said to have a great sense of humor. The Smooth Fox Terrier has a keen nose, remarkable eyesight and staying powers in accomplishing his work.

The Wire Fox Terrier is characterized by a hardy constitution and cocksure personality. They were originally bred to "go to ground" to chase small game from their dens. The Wire Fox Terrier's energy is boundless and his antics are endless. They are easily trained and do well in obedience.
