Toy Group

The Toy Group is a collection of the smallest breeds of dogs.

Submissions are for dog information sites within the toy group, not products and supplies which goes to Shopping/Pets/Dogs.

Recreational categories are intended for the hobbyist with a focus on the breed and showing the animals; on limited occasions litters or puppies may become available and offered to the public. Websites whose primary focus is to sell puppies or dogs will be considered a business. Currently all businesses selling puppies or dogs as companions, pets, or show animals should be listed in Regional under the businesses physical location.

Bolognese

The Bolognese, developed in Bologna, Italy from bichon stock as a companion dog, is recorded in literature and tapestries of the 11th and 12th centuries and was a favorite among the nobility. Efforts to revive the breed began in the 1970s in both Belgium and Italy.

The Bolognese is a small, sturdy dog that is friendly and loyal.

Chinese Crested

Chinese Crested Dog belongs to the ancient breed, and is probably a result of the spontaneous mutation appearing simultaneously in many parts of the world sometime in the forgotten past. Two distinctive varieties are born in the same litter: the Hairless and the Powderpuff.

Mexican Hairless

The Xolos are one of the world's most rare and ancient breeds in existence today. The Xoloitzcuintli breed, in common with the Peruvian Inca Orchid, Chinese Crested, African Sand Dog and Indian Hairless, consists of the two varieties born in the same litter: the hairless and the coated. Xolos have been documented as far back as 3000 years in archeological relics of the ancient Indians of the Central America. Extremely intelligent, they come in three main sizes: toy, miniature and standard. The hairless variety has a smooth, hairless skin with a tuft of the hair on the top of the head and tip of the tail. The standard size Xolos have been used in Central America for protection and guarding.
