Coleg Llandrillo Cymru is a college based on the North-Wales
coast and in Conwy
County Borough and Denbighshire.
It has tens of thousands of students who are mainly part-time. The main
campus is west of Rhos-on-Sea (by Colwyn
Bay) near Penrhyn Bay. There are also campuses in Abergele, Denbigh
and Rhyl
as well as the Llandudno
Cyberskills Centre, the Elwy Centre (for businesses) at the St.
Asaph Business Park and a mobile IT bus. The college offers some courses
based in halls, libraries and schools in the communities of Conwy,
Llanrwst, Llandudno
Junction, Llandudno, Llanfairfechan,
Llysfaen, Colwyn
Bay, Penmaenmawr,
Rhos-on-Sea, Denbigh,
Dyserth, Meliden, Prestatyn, Rhyl
and St.
Asaph.
It offers a range of courses to students of all ages from school level to higher education in art and design, beauty, business, computing, construction, counselling, engineering, English as a foreign language, the environment, finance, hairdressing, hospitality, teacher training, interior design, office skills, languages, painting and decorating, media studies, performing arts, plumbing, sports, maths, sciences, textiles, aromatheropy, reflexology, photography, first aid, sign language, health, sociology, psychology, motor vehicles.
The college, formerly called "Llandrillo Technical College", was opened by the Duke of Endinburgh on June 23, 1965. It has won many awards and recently was given the highest grade for any welsh college by her majesty's inspectors, Estyn.
