Leonard Rossiter plays Rigsby, a tight-fisted landlord. His tenants include Ruth Jones (Frances De La Tour) and students Alan Moore (Richard Beckinsale) and Philip Smith (Don Warrington). Rigsby has designs on Miss Jones who herself has desires for Philip.
Rising Damp was written by Eric Chappell, directed and produced by Ronnie Baxter, Vernon Lawrence, Len Lurcuck and Ian MacNaughton. It was transmitted by Yorkshire Television.
