Telecoms carriers who customers can choose as an alternative to BT for all their telephone access, not just those providing savings on some calls by dialling a prefix or using a dialler via a BT line.
These services can be provided by alternative means, e.g. through Cable TV lines, over radio networks, as well as simply replacing BT as the service provider.
