The village Bishopsteignton is half way between the neighbouring towns of  Kingsteignton and  Teignmouth, on the north bank of the Teign estuary.  The north of the parish includes the village of Luton, with the inland parishes of Ideford to the north west, and  Ashcombe, to the north east.  Rural western parts of the parish of  Dawlish also stretch to the boundary between Ashcombe and Teignmoth, at the National Trust ridge at Little Haldon.
