( Chedington should not to be confused with Cheddington in the Aylesbury Vale district of Buckinghamshire. )
Chedington is a village and parish south of South Perrott, characterised by golden ham stone, in the
chalk hills of West Dorset, where springs create the source of two rivers, the Axe and the Parrett.
The Axe flows west via Mosterton, whereas the Parrett flows north,
eventually to its mouth on the north coast of Somerset.
East of Chedington village, the A356 leads south east to Maiden Newton, and across the valley at
Winyard's Gap to the east, Corscombe parish is before the Halstock category.
