Horton is a village, and East Dorset parish, on the east bank of the River Allen,
north of Chalbury and south of Woodlands.

Upstream,  Wimborne St Giles village is on the east bank, and its parish spans
west across the Allen to  Gussage All Saints.
Moor Crichel is directly west of Horton connected by a minor road bridge, and the B3078 takes road traffic
south west from  Cranborne, through the Allen Vale to Hinton, represented by  Colehill further south.
Holt parish to the south east is also represented by Colehill, whereas websites for east of Horton Heath
are represented by  Three Legged Cross, which is part of  Verwood parish to the north east.
