Piddletren­thide is a linear settlement on the River Piddle as it flows south
from Alton Pancras where it rises from the surrounding downs,

whereas  Buckland  Newton is over the downs to the north.
Plush is a village in a valley to the east within Piddletren­thide parish, through which a minor road
leads to the North Dorset parish of Mappowder between  Pulham and  Hazelbury Bryan.
To the west, Cerne Vale, is represented by the  Cerne Abbas category.
To the south of White Lackington, Piddlehinton is the next parish downstream,
before  Puddletown further south east.
