Tolpuddle is a settlement on the north bank of the River Piddle, now bypassed by the A35 trunk road, from Bere Regis to Puddletown to the east.
The River Piddle flows from Puddletown, eastwards north of Bryantspuddle, in the combined parish of Affpuddle and Turner Puddle.
Tolpuddle parish extends north of the A35, before Weatherby Castle, at the top of the hill separating Milborne St Andrew.
The parish south of the Piddle and Southover Heath is Tincleton represented by Stinsford.
